Rugby

Rugby is one of the most physically demanding sports there are out there. Not only that, but this rough sport also requires concentration, coordination and micro skills in order to perform at the highest level.

Strength and conditioning is usually the most common form of training that is linked with Rugby. This is because the sport requires players to smash each other in tackles, and bust the oppositions’ defensive line. Strength and conditioning and will provide players with higher strength levels, hypertrophy gains, and strength endurance, which are all necessary for the sport.

Speed, agility and quickness (SAQ) are all very key areas for rugby, as it is a high paced game, especially rugby 7s. Having the ability to chop and change direction, whilst maintaining maximum speed is something that every player needs.

I’ve personally grown up with rugby all around me. From attending my first under 7’s mini rugby session, to playing at the Hong Kong 7s for the Hong Kong National team, and scoring the winning try against Wales at the 2010 Hong Kong 7s.

I know what it takes to become a top player in your position, whether you’re a prop looking for power, or a winger looking for pure gas and a ‘Quade Cooper-esque” side step. We’re also keen on injury prevention for all players in such a physical sport. Strengthening our shoulders, knees and other important joint is our priority in order to strengthen your careers. Coastal Fitness will provide you with the tools you need to excel in your position.
