Coming up to a month of re-opening our doors at Coastal, and while we are still riding the waves everyday, and learning to tackle each opportunity as they come, we are grateful for all the things that we are learning.
While the world is slowly attempting to “re-open”, and we start to have access to our gyms again, we wanted to take this opportunity to share one of the best lessons we’ve taken from this crisis. Yes, we have had to adapt; our coaching, our policies, our schedule, and our programming, but our beliefs have always remained the same: one of them being LONGEVITY.
Everyday the truth that the wider population of people are investing in their health and fitness, becomes more apparent. We are grateful that we all now have a greater appreciation for long term health. More of us are realising that we should not be sacrificing our health for the sake of short term performance, and that we can no longer ignore the signals from our mind and body, which tell us to slow down. The world is now taking PROACTIVE actions to ensure our wellbeing, and that is something we should all be thankful for.
We have always believed in longevity, we talk about it over and over again, and it is at the core of our programming, and of our community. We believe in auto-regulation, listening to your bodies, and to adjusting intensity based on what you’re ready to give for the day. We believe in moving and training with intention, and that we should all strive to understand what our body NEEDS, instead of focusing on what we WANT.
